The Ramadan Poem by Asim Baadshah

The Ramadan

Ramadan descends like unseen light,
Washing the soul in sacred night.
The moon bears witness, pale and thin,
As hearts return to where they've been.

Empty hands learn how to pray,
While hunger clears the clouded way.
The ego fades, the spirit grows,
In silent wounds the soul best knows.

The Qur'an breathes through time and bone,
Each verse a path to Him alone.
Nights rise slow with trembling pleas,
Foreheads rest on destiny's knees.

At iftar, mercy breaks the fast,
Each breath forgiven from the past.
Ramadan leaves-yet still imparts
A softened world inside our hearts.
