The Rarity Of Human Birth Poem by Param Chaitanya Ravindra Joshi

The Rarity Of Human Birth

This human birth is extremely rare,
Which you will know when death is near.
When the story of your life
Shall run in front of your eyes.
You have wasted your life in sensory pleasures,
Then will you realise.
The Lord was so near to us,
But we, engrossed in this world, missed the bus.
Only in human birth can you attain Salvation,
Even the gods and angels crave this human incarnation.
Heavens are subtle worlds of enjoyment and pleasure,
Where you cannot do any new karmas (deeds) , come may whatever.
You have been sent there on a picnic,
For various virtuous actions,
You performed as humans.
You'll return here after your virtues get over,
To again ride this earthly roller coaster.
It is best to live a life divine,
And dedicate all your actions to God sublime,
And then you'll merge into God,
In this very birth, as your ultimate reward.
