The Real Stories Are Another Dimension Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Real Stories Are Another Dimension

The statistics tell an impersonal story
We read them and think of and fear
Becoming one of the real stories
The real stories are another dimension
The terrible suffering for the family
Thegrief
The cries of pain
A story that appears in Israel
A woman who lost her husband
With twin infants
She had struggled many years to have
And now they are the youngest orphans
Her sister's grief screams from the screen
There is no consolation for her in
‘Today there was no exponential growth in new cases'
Two worlds
The ones who it has not personally touched
And the ones for whom it is devastation
