The Reason Hearts Are Made Whole. Poem by Kayla Bryant

The Reason Hearts Are Made Whole.

Rating: 5.0

Shattered pieces left for me,
to clean up while you stand up and leave,
everything we ever were is gone.
All the things you said to me,
are all blown away you see,
the wind picked them up,
when I picked up the phone,
and you said you were done.

Walk away I'll stand here in the rain,
wearing a mask to hide all my pain,
you played with my heart like a stupid game,
well you win, I'll never be the same.
Broken pieces can't be replaced,
Say what you want but it's never okay,
you can't just say your sorry that way,
I'm not going to beg you to stay.

Teardrops stain my darkened heart,
but they can be washed away.
You don't own me, don't tell me who to be,
and don't tell me what to say.
Love isn't about taking someones heart.
it's about how to give, not to take.
Sometimes, in my dreams I wonder;
were hearts made whole, just to break?
