The Red Flag Was Flying Poem by Joyce Hemsley

The Red Flag Was Flying

Friday, sixth day of May
two thousand and five,
the red flag was flying high.
Prime Minister Blair
was still in the Chair.
We were so happy
we cried.

A new term, a third term,
a 'top of the world' term,
no other colour would do!
Our first Lady, Cherie
was smiling with glee,
and we all drank a toast
to Her Majesty:

QUEEN ELIZABETH.
