The Refugee - Poem by Neil Gray

The woman's refugee around the corner from me
burnt down the other night
and I found myself wondering,
as they ran from the tumble-down
building,
if they'd ever thought
that they would've felt
such intense fear
ever again.

I guess sometimes
even sanctuary
can fail
you.
