The Religion Of The Damned Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Religion Of The Damned

After years of Liberalism
And moral relativism
Being preached from the pulpits
Of elite universities
The chickens are finally
Coming home to roost
In these institutions of higher learning
Where rights were too often
Proclaimed to be desirable
As something exclusive unto themselves
And responsibility was denigrated
Or at best down played
The new religion of the damned
Whose adherents
Are the spawn of these teachings
Is overtaking and dictating
Behavior, so much so, that
Alarm bells are beginning to ring
(Likely much too late
To reverse the current trends)
The turning of sexual expression
And other social issues
Into sacred spaces
Thereby removing them
From challenge and debate
And then openly shaming
Any with opposing views
Has become the modus operandi
Of this new religion
Full of impressionable
Poorly informed youth
Now experts claim
If the trend continues
Many institutions of higher learning
Will be forced to close
Or suffer violent upheavals
The certain unraveling of everything
Appears to be the only absolute
In a world
Blinded by moral relativism.
