The Return (After Robert Creeley) Poem by Jack Galmitz

The Return (After Robert Creeley)

a subway and a bus ride
and I return to streets
of modest red
brick barrack-like
houses after my parents
have left for good

to find a glimpse of the reflecting sun
on the windows from
where they once
looked down and called
me up my name
is no longer heard
