The Rhythmic Sound Of Drumming Poem by Satheesan Rangorath

The Rhythmic Sound Of Drumming

the rhythmic sound of drumming flows from the faraway mountains
Bale trees raise from the deep slumber
dawn has arrived from the ocean of night
on the left, the sun takes a dip in the holy Ganges
right side moon galloping back remains of scattered stars combed back
taking a dip in the milky way his matted hair sprinkles the holy water
on the faces of this life, waking us from the depth of deep sleep
lord Shiv sanctifies the auspicious dawn applying the ashes of dead sun and stars
divinity dances in frantic steps, the entire cosmos shake and shiver
forming and sounding AUM.the world takes shapes in a holy pattern
the unique philosophy of oneness arise from the hoods of a serpent
let me shower at your feet the Villwa leaves of love
I just want to remain at your feet as a grain of ignorance
let me embrace you in my thoughts and deeds
by chanting the five syllables of your divine name
Oh my Lord my Shiva, Mahadeva

An ultimate song of reverence to Lord Kaashi Vishwanath. Wonderful expressions. “Sun takes a dip in the Holy Ganges, .... moon galloping back, remains of scattered stars combed back...” Lovely poetry.. Loved this.
