The Right Man Poem by liz haines

The Right Man

Last night I was thinking and trying to write a poem
But my only thoughts were who would help me start a home
Now I know I'm only in eleventh grade
But I don't want to end up a lonely old maid
I thought about the boys at school
No not them, well maybe one would meet my rule
I need a man not afraid of hard work
A brave man that enjoys my quirk
A man that honors God
A gentle man but with a hand like a rod
A man that will comfort and help me
But give me room for me to be...well me
A man that loves God first, then the family
A man that will help the homeless and lonely
O what a man that would be
The type of man I wish all would be
