The Right Way Is Always Right Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

The Right Way Is Always Right

Not many rivers flow to merge with the sea!

Not all flowers bloom to reach the altar of God.
Whipped by winds and storms
Seared by the noonday heat, they wilt
Waiting for the coolness to be kinder
and the tomorrow more enlivening.

For many tomorrow is a chimera
a figment, a mere ideation, a day after a long sleep,
An illusion in the mind of man,
It never comes.

Before the coming of the coolness,
The river dries,
the flowers wane.
Sources of joy to the heart,
One by one,
Like dewdrops, the petals fall
Back into the arms of the loving mother,
That gave them birth.

Like the rivers and the flowers, we loiter
down the lanes of life in search of success
Happiness and greatness.

Blessed is he who finds eternal happiness in this world.
Unhappy man can only chant of unhappiness
World of living illusions can only ultimately engender illusions
And tears.

Life is like grains of sands,
It is constantly slipping through the fingers.
Those are great Souls who have mastered
The laws of holding the grains of sands from slipping.

They live on a plane infinitely more different.
They are the masters of life and illusions.

One day perchance when we learn to stop
counting the pages of our own puny successes,
And broaden our visions of what this world is really,
And what we ought to be busy about,

We will discover that reality has far more dimensions to it
Than this fragile existence gives to our thoughts;
That our mind and heart had been hijacked
By the ignorance of our marauding senses.
That unknown to us
We have been going the wrong way all along;

Ourperception of the final denouement
And the glory of our final merge with the Maker,
Those promises of everlasting happiness
And successes were all fabricated by the senses.

The truth and the way to it are what those wise men left behind
to guide us,
But which we turned our backs on for a brew of quick success.
The rest are continuous pain
And suffering.
