The Ripened Breath Poem by Scott J. Shepard

The Ripened Breath

Children of language,
its nature carried with innocence itself, within itself,
a sense to mature.

To employ some breadth of art whispered with objective.
A natural field, controversial or sidesplitting,
compassionate perimeters to the disclosure of the mediocre.

Where the story begins within the boundaries of a young boy,
the telltale revealing to some extent, although language
routinely rendered, it serves its second purpose.
Commend or advance for the toss of the high handed hold,
art became exactly this. This young child’s innocence.
.
The world, the grounds, the poise of childhood’s reactions,
widening existence where questions are answered,
then intuition, enchanting the seasons spell for
installments of memories.

The boy whom which answered to a degree, as a child,
being the same way, handed with words and quotations,
of the moment such incantations ripen aloft and seized their breath.

Through story telling, well concealed beyond experience
To where the limits of language meet
Challenging perimeters within being of meaning and form
the objective to which the young boy lifted.
