The Ritual Poem by Jureca Failanga

The Ritual

The first note signals

The ritual of the sacrilege of words

Lies! Black as the ink that oozes from your quill,

You maliciously separate,

The signified from the signifier;

In the chant of ironies and metaphors;

In the drumbeats of rhythm and rhymes;

The fumes of charred hermeneutics

seep through the brain of the helpless prey,

Aesthetic masochism....

Or simply hypnotism....

I become a willing victim of your sadism!
