The River Poem by Pete Rivera

The River

River running with soft emotion
The current flows with the silent wind
Bring peace and harmony back into motion
And leave behind the nature of sin
I wish that was the case
But sadly I turn my head in shame
I've made the biggest mistake
And it has led to hatred instead of fame
Now I cannot turn away
From the nature of the beating heart
My mind is constantly in the fray
Now it's tearing my silent soul apart
I'm not filled with depression
If that's what you believe
It was just merely a simple session
But not a single lesson was received
I'm asking kindly for forgiveness
For all the things that have come to mind
You've struck my heart with great precision
And seperated us with a simple yellow line
Do not be frightened by the light
That's what they told me long ago
But even this did not save my life
It all just goes to show
