The River And Lord Muruga Of Kazhugumalai Are One And The Same! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

The River And Lord Muruga Of Kazhugumalai Are One And The Same!

It appears in the mountain;
it touches the enormous ocean;
It accepts the branches of trees
and creepers in between the banks;
It flourishes the wealth wherever it goes;
It runs without taking rest;
It makes the alluvial soil rich - River!

He will show auspicious sight to the devotees;
He will have a large spear in his hand;
On both of his sides, he has the Goddess
Deivanai (the elephant) and
Valli (comparable to creeper):
He will shower blessings to his devotees;
- Lord Muruga of the mountain Kazhugumalai!

So to say, the river and Lord Muruga
of Kazhugumalai are one and the same!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Hi,
This poem 'The river and Lord Muruga of Kazhugumalai are one and the same! ' is a translation by me of a Tamil poem by Poet.ValliMuthu of Kazhugumalai of Tuticorin District.
