The Road Home Poem by Joscelyn Alderdice

The Road Home

Rating: 5.0

I walked along a winding road...
'Twas there I found my new abode...

It was plastered with flowers...
I stared at it for hours...

Days rolled on and seasons changed...
And slowly things began to rearrange...

The flowers began to die...
And so I started to cry...

I left my old abode..and again...
I found myself wondering on that winding road...

Nicely done. Simple and profound. Forever in the search for that special place.

This is so true. It is a real life challenge when we come what we think is a final destination, only to find that we are moving on again. This is somewhat similar to my poem 'I Came Upon A Wood'. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem. A 10+. Love & hugs, Barbara
