The Road To Getting There Poem by Ray Hansell

The Road To Getting There

Rating: 5.0

The pain in your eyes
Can't match the pain in my heart
Since we both agreed
That we should part

This empty feeling that I have
Stays with me night and day
I only wish I knew how
To chase this feeling away

My love for you was truly strong
I thought true love was here to stay
But somehow things went wrong
Love got lost along the way

I wish you nothing but the best
May God watch over you
I hope one day that you find peace
in whatever you chose to do

We all know it's never easy
To lose anything in life
But losing someone you love
Is a lonely and terrible fight

Your emotions are very mixed
You're not sure what to feel
You just know losing someone
Is a pain you can't conceal

You know things will get better
Eventually you'll find someone to care
But the hardest part of it all
Is the road to getting there

Ray, I like this poem even more than others by you I have read. This is nice writing and very expressive of what you are feeling. I hope your road to getting there will be light!
