The Root Of Weakness Poem by K. Gray Willoughby

The Root Of Weakness

Rating: 4.5

Fear is a Toxin.
Crawling through the mind and poisoning the perception of reality.
Creating a weakness of will
And leaving behind an empty vessel of insanity.
Invoking the nightmares of human existence and the demons of imagination.

Fear is a Snake.
Preying on the powerless.
Exposing those who live in the shadows of their inner strength
And consuming them from within.
Leaving nothing but pain in it’s trail.

Fear is a Curse.
Plaguing the soul and breeding instability.
Rotting away the life
And leaving a corpse of one’s former self.
Permitting the acceptance of submission to evil.

Fear is Born.
Cultivated in the darkest recesses of the subconscious.
Striving to control
And reveal the fragile to the horrors they forge.
Compelling surrender.

Fear is Broken.
Overcome by confrontation.
Subdued by fortitude
And realization of power against the scourge.
Fear is a Plague.
Fear is Within.
Fear is Fought.
Fear Is Conquered.
Fear is Nothing.

Fear is a bunch of sinister shadows without substance. It is indeed surmountable as you have shown. A lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
