The Rose Of Love Poem by Franklin Spriggs

The Rose Of Love

I gave my wife a bouquet of flowers,
Some times I'm asked the reason why,
It is for no special occasion,
Yet it brings a tear to your eye.

I love the roses honey,
I love the fragrance too,
Into a vase of water they go,
With a heart felt I thank you.

But what is so touching,
Of the flowers that I buy,
Why do women take it to heart,
And what makes them want to cry?

She said, this is the thought honey,
Behind a simple little rose,
How it touches a woman's heart,
And so the story goes.

I put the roses in water,
Symbolic of our well of love,
Down through the stem of life,
Our hearts are nourished from above.

Though there are numerous thorns in life,
A symbol of hard times and pain,
Yet we have endured them all,
And still our love remains the same.

Our marriage has blossomed like the flower,
A fragrance of our never ending love,
Each petal is all the hugs and kisses,
Every one as gentle as a dove.

It is more than just a rose,
An emblem of your love for me,
It is the inner twinning of two hearts,
That has been joined eternally.
