when you left
my world has changed.
darkness is not gloom.
no one is doomed.
i still sip coffee at
8 a.m.
i will be okey, and
i am telling you again,
i will be okey.
i will not mention your
name to the moon,
this pretty thing that
shines at night and promises
me that someday you wil be
back into my arms again.
i wake up at4 o'clock in the
morning,
you always arrive thirty minutes
after.
we will be alone again.
enjoying each others' silent
embrace
listening to the beatings of
our hearts.
there is a reason for every
goodbye.
it will be good i tell myself.
good for both of us.
you left a smile for me
which i kept in my heart.
i still have your pictures
and so i am all alive.
i wish you well up there in
the mountains
as you fight your own kind of wars
and fears.
i may follow soon, when this is
over, but
no, you will be here again,
as the moon still shines.
ah, love in the most silent
moment,
in the most secret corner of
our hearts,
how foolish could we be?
amidst the pandemic, as others die,
and suffering,
we still love, and believe
in its sadness.
