Tune: Space Shadows
The Sage Poet's Thatched Cottage
By William He
Phoebes extend their arms.
Here the heady scent of refreshing,
Scenery in diversity found.
Entering the place by evening,
Someone else appears nearby,
Also this cottage and the dull old sky.
In the bamboo forest all twisted and rude,
Around the walls again,
Poetic firefly and cicada wink.
Drinking more sorrow,
His figure recurs behind a hedge,
The deepest images and reflections now.
The conscience sound makes one's time,
Between the paths of darling strife,
The irregular phenomena of life.
It is his straw-thatched shelter,
With the shadows of the night,
He retreats from all eyes as in lone ground.
To catch the lotus soul in a sort of special picture,
His mind drifting with the waves,
Crucian sentimental, ruffle with sad vein.
Fretted with the dimness,
Such melancholy thoughts,
More unexpected from rhythmical stream.
