The Saint Of Huckster Street Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Saint Of Huckster Street

Rating: 5.0

You wrote the book
on how to be a crook
It caught a line of suckers
Now it's an instant bestseller

With your fat flair and poise
you pull the wool on old boys
From Presidents to princes
All sink to your plastic riches

You're a bombshell at ground zero
Bending back the straightest arrow
Seductive with your etiquette
Lips teasing like a sedative

But you can't tell a dog from rats
When you're running with both packs
All your dreams of fortune
Are schemes for grand extortion

And everyone can see
You're the saint of Huckster Street
Calculated when to thrill
When you head in for the kill
Its enough to make you ill

Did you have a particular person in mind or a category of people like politicians, wall street sharks, - -oh, well I guess these categories are all con men. These people are disturbing enough but when hordes of people flock to them and follow them slavishly- -I behold shades of Hitler and the Third Reich and fear the inhumanity that follow such men [and women of course]. Extremely well written, Kevin Patrick!

A powerful derogatory poem of disparaging remarks on someone who has a foul reputation! The character in this context well deserves this! A 10
