The wind, it howled, a hungry beast,
Waves crashed the deck, from west to east.
Old sailors stood, with weathered face,
Their ship, a toy, in ocean's space.
Then from the deep, a shadow grew,
A thing of scales, a ghastly hue.
With eyes like lamps, and teeth like knives,
It came to claim their precious lives.
The captain roared, a fearless sound,
'We fight, my lads, on hallowed ground! '
With harpoons sharp, and hearts ablaze,
They met the monster, in a watery daze.
The storm it raged, the sea it churned,
Each blow they struck, a lesson learned.
The beast it thrashed, with mighty tail,
A battle fought, beyond the pale.
Hours passed by, a weary fight,
Through darkest storm and fading light.
Then with a cry, the monster fell,
Beneath the waves, to ocean's hell.
The ship was tossed, but held its own,
The weary crew, no longer prone.
They sailed for home, with tales to tell,
Of monsters met, and battles quelled.
