Whisper.
In this dark,
in this light,
you
are a whisper,
sweeping
and sea-like,
sweating stars
from your kiss.
I close my eyes,
I say your name in my head,
say your name out loud,
say it like its syllable is dying
and I’m trying
to save it,
to save you.
I lost you,
somewhere
between
the clouds
and the thunder
threading through
your veins.
Mouth
to
mouth,
an exchange
of tongues,
soft,
savage,
sunlit.
I dropp finally
from the sky,
straight through your rain,
plummeting.
On your own,
you carried me
all this way.
I am back where I lost you.
Now
find
me.

Oliver...I love the way you seem to thread yourself through the images-very clever at times, but I'm not sure that clipped lining is effective-it was bothering me as I moved down the poem. Take care, John
