The Search For Beauty! Poem by Denis Martindale

When I was young, I saw a girl, and fell in love that day,
She was the girl who changed my world in every single way.
No more the child, like other boys, no more the innocent,
No more the need for silly toys, those days behind me went.
On that day, I saw her beauty, like nothing else on Earth,
And I counted it my duty to check upon its worth.
It's true, I'd tremble and stumble, daydreaming of her kiss,
But God's wisdom made me humble to know love's more than this.

For love demands my everything, yes, all I've got to give,
No more a simple wondering of how I'm meant to live.
As a man, I saw God's love for me, and that changed me as well,
Eternal life through Calvary, in Heaven, not in Hell.
And it was at the Cross of Christ, the King of Love I found,
And just like Him, I got baptised, with blessings all around.
Christ's inner beauty made me His, He's worth much more than gold,
The Bible's Good News showed me this, the greatest story ever told!
