The Seed That Grew Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Seed That Grew

I remember the girl with the heavy heart,
Who wondered when her real life would start.
She counted the stars from her window pane,
And whispered her wishes through the falling rain.

She asked for a shelter, a safe place to rest,
To calm the wild beating inside of her chest.
She wanted a hand that would hold her so tight,
And chase out the shadows that came with the night.

Now I look at my life in the warm morning sun,
And see that the waiting is finally done.
The seed that she planted has grown to a tree,
The peace that she prayed for, is right here with me.

So thank you, sweet girl,
for holding on fast,
We reached the bright shore of our harbor at last.
