The Seized Presidential Jets Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

The Seized Presidential Jets

The seized presidential jets,
The mighty jets that soar with grace,
Carrying the weight of a nation's pride,
But now, they're seized, in a dire embrace.

For political strife, they must abide,
Where once they flew with a presidential seal,
Now, they rest in a grasp of uncertainty,
Their engines silenced, their fate surreal.

As the power struggle grips with tenacity,
No longer a symbol of strength and might,
But a pawn in a game of political might,
These jets, once revered, now locked in a plight.

Of being used as leverage in a fight,
Oh, how sad it is to see them bound,
Forced to land on an unfamiliar ground,
Their wings clipped, their engines put to rest.

As they await their fate, with a heavy heart,
Their duty to serve, now put to test,
In a political game, they have no part,
But in the end, they are mere machines.

No voice, no choice, just a means to an end,
For it's the will of men that reigns supreme,
And these jets, seized, are just a symbol to bend,
Oh, seized presidential jets, so grand and proud
In awaiting, your story shall be avowed.
