A street performer sang at the Third Street Promenade
A melody so sweet and sung so beautifully
A little girl so enthralled with him and his music
Stopped and paused to listen to the haunting melody.
The words were of an ancient language known by many but not by her
She is afterall only 2
All she knew is that he is such a handsome fellow
He could sing the song even in acapella.
As you and I watched them both in awe
Music has no boundaries even with the young and the old
It soothes even the most savaged of beasts and enthralls the most innocent
Music, it brings lovers closer, as it did to us: You and I.
And as we both walk away from such a touching sight
I couldn't help but to look back
For the little girl I held a kind though:
When she's all grown up, may she find real love
to cherish her for the rest of her life.
