The Serpent Is Hidden Poem by Robert Rorabeck

The Serpent Is Hidden

Calling up the children from the
Green roadway: trying to recall the sounds
They made,
Effervescing, up to some good:
The diamonds dancing on her dresses hidden by
The blue car in the carport,
While she is turning around,
Turning around- and the serpent is hidden
In the backyard: yes, the serpent is hidden up in
His tree.
