The Serpent's Wife Poem by George Samuel

The Serpent's Wife

Tongue lashing,
Toxic flash;
Grinning on that unfortunate day,
From the slippery serpent way;
How many souls have you lashed?

Count them in hell!
Where their sorry faces cry.
Too late to wish them well,
Now be proud you tried,
To represent the her in human skin;
And walk your way seductively into men's wine.

Yet only a few can resist you,
The few in hell!
