The Setting Of The Sun Poem by Mystique 2009

The Setting Of The Sun

Rating: 5.0

Walked through thousand paths merging with the dark,
heart plunged into oblivion, your scorn bearing a mark
jumped into the abyss trying to get you back
found a living wall, an unthinkable rack

Begged to wizards, dragons even masters
as a last resort talked to spell casters
but the sun was setting in their worlds and mine
and there was nobody to whom I could whine

I am a blind man grouping in the shades
my inner sight seeking the light of your love
just raging explosions from the sky above
demons mocking at me with evil charades

Chaos has crowned itself on my head
as you walk away leaving me unfed
full moon not sharing its beautiful shine
God himself purging me out of his design

The sun now is setting in my new-found hell
tolling dreadful notes, sounds a distant bell
smothering your voice from my deafened place
runs a soulless anguish sketching my face

These verses blend aptly with the dark theme and dusk in which even pleading to demons and dark forces for some help can be equally shared and justified by the poet and reader. Excellent write.
