The Seven Deadly Sins Poem by Nesreen Kamel MNSR

The Seven Deadly Sins

Once upon a time,
in a land beneath the stars,
lived some dark creatures,
whose story now starts.

The creatures known as 'humans',
always wore smiles very wide.
But in this little land,
they all lived a little lie.

The city, OH! so peaceful!
The streets flooded with lights.
Once the sun would set down,
they'd all rush in and hide.

Their once radiant faces,
would overflow with unceasing fear.
Fiercely taking their kids away,
in their homes, they'd disappear.

But what they truly dreaded,
was no monster of the night.
It was none but their own demons,
they veiled under a little smile.

Upon waking up from their slumber,
The demons would devour everyone's soul.
forcing them to give in,
to the deadliest sins of them all.

The demon of 'GREED',
would feast on the lady's mind.
Buying bulks of jewelry and clothes,
yet never ever satisfied.

The demon of 'ENVY',
would haunt the kid at night.
stuffing him with more of its poison,
till he was eaten up alive.

The demon of 'GLUTTONY',
always keeping the king occupied,
with the world's most scrumptious dishes,
till obesity became the reason he died.

The demon of 'LUST',
would devour the young man's mind.
For committing rapes and crimes,
in jail, he'll be spending his life.

The demon of 'WRATH',
getting between the mother and child.
She's left being consumed by guilt,
for abusing her child every night.

The demon of 'SLOTH',
taking control of the man's heart.
he has lost interest in everything,
and now he'll watch as his life falls apart.

The demon pf 'PRIDE',
your most selfish and ugliest desires.
flooding you with unceasing dark thoughts,
looking down on all mankind.

Daily, they'd paint on their little smiles,
going on with their life with no shame.
But once the sun sets down,
the seven demons shall visit again.
