The Shadowlands Poem by Chaarzarul Rockett

The Shadowlands

Into the shadowland of loneliness I will go
Calling the ground I walk upon my own.
For it is all that I shall ever possess
There is no one for me, I am forever alone.

I will grow accustomed to the darkness
like a blanket it will keep me warm
Protecting me from the cold and bitter winds
that speak to me with subtle charm.

And when my heart aches
and I yearn for something more
I will let love knock continuously
but I will never open the door.
