The Shattered Throne Poem by Conrad Seegert

The Shattered Throne

Rating: 5.0

A man walks his path all alone
Trying to escape his shattered throne
He begins to look back one last time
As he moves in to a future unknown

He keeps moving forward, filled with regret
Then out of the shadows appears a dark silhouette
There stands a man he's known for some time
And as he sits their his eyes become wet

A friend from his past brings his forgiveness
"For even though you were quite ambitious
The council ruled wrong
You were not that vicious"

The friend then leaves with a bow
Understanding the man must go now
He continues his journey into the night
Moving along, still going somehow

As the air begins to cool
He comes across a crystal pool
Into the water he throws his last jewel
Wondering how he could be such a fool
