The Shorter Leg Poem by Boghos Artinian

The Shorter Leg

I had almost achieved indifference
To her, having much tried in vain before.
Then she came back with her 'left leg shorter'
Than her right. 'Measure them Doctor' she said,
Exposing her thighs, and I obeyed.
The left was slightly shorter indeed;
But that was not the point – she entered my mind
Again, to settle for a longer time!
