You can see only what I'll show
Deep down you’ll never know
Yet, you claim to know me inside and out
Never claiming any doubt
But what if I've told you only lies
And you believe what you see in my eyes
You’ll never know my dark side
It’s what everyone tends to hide
Will you still be there
Holding the torch that lights despair
To see me through thick and thin
When you can’t see through my skin
Will you still walk beside me
Hold my hand and hold me near
Will you still listen to me
When I whisper in your ear
Will you still talk with me
Even though it’s not what you want to hear
Even with people we love
We still treat them with hand in glove
Such apprehensions will always exist
As answers wallow in the mist
When will the fog be lifted
When will the truth be shifted
I guess I’ll never know
Because of me there is no more to show
