The Silence Was Death Poem by Kurt Philip Behm

The Silence Was Death

Michael attacked the music
but the melody struck back

Driving him deeper inside himself
behind the sequence and the mask

Silence was death unspoken
and one that only he could hear

As the beat became his death knell
—a final moonwalk out of time
