The Silent Assassin Poem by mamahlodi francis mamogoane

The Silent Assassin

Who are you?
where do you come from?
How do you pick your 'prey'
For my blood you have invaded

Are you trully,
the beggining of an end?
how rythless and mercyless are you?
in mankind's veins

i look at the mirror,
all i see is a fading picture
of what used to be me
for i am physically dismantled

you have me conered,
my back against the wall
standing face to face is life and death
im paralised by fear

i am confined by your presence
like a shrinking 'Violet'
my flesh vanishes through my bones
my strength you have stolen
yet, my soul you cannot steal

and still you remain...the silent assassin
