The Single Bloke Joe Poem by Francis Duggan

The Single Bloke Joe

In his early thirties the single bloke Joe
He seems to be trapped in his cocoon of woe
He always has such a sad look on his face
For laughter in his heart there is not any space
Since his ex lover Sue left him a few years ago
Apart from the World he has seemed to grow
He does not have a friend he does not have a foe
A sad person others do not wish to know
The love of his life was the raven haired Sue
But sad for him to him she did not stay true
Yet he's still a young man just out of his prime
And lost love's great healer is old father time
A down to earth fellow untainted by guile
But for him life would be better if he knew how to smile.
