The Sinking Ship Poem by Arielle Perkins

The Sinking Ship

Rating: 3.2

The Titanic will sail the sea, with no doom or harm
It will cut through the water and pose its magnificent charm.
It is unsinkable, many led to believe
Nevertheless others, were not quiet so naive.
Saying, not even God could sink this ship
But this beauty could not even last one trip.
A touch of an iceberg ripped a great hole
And down to the bottom it dragged many souls
The rich and the famous, the lowly and poor
No matter whom it was they were taken to the ocean floor
Mother and fathers, and children to
They where all left behind not knowing what to do.
Running for their lives to the tip of this grand boat
Hanging on too anything trying to stay a float
Screaming and crying with hundreds of thoughts running through their head
Asking themselves what’s worse, to live or to be dead?
They said their silent prayers and kissed each other goodbye
As they lay there in the freezing ocean, not quite ready to die.

Death, the great leveller and mans self importance exposed by natures brushing touch. Great write Arielle.
