Accountants work with figures,
but their figures have no values.
The numbing effect of numbers
dehumanizes men.
Each one has built a holy shrine
and placed it on the bottom line.
Maximizing profits at all costs obsesses them.
Mechanize. Computerize.
Make the human race redundant.
Replace ourselves with robots.
Destroy our selfish gene.
Unlike the long dead dinosaur,
who couldn't see what lay in store,
we, who could predict it all, refuse to intervene.
One dead-end day
one man will see
that he has won supremacy.
All the power - all the gold-
are his alone to have and hold.
All his fellows lost to death-
he alone is drawing breath.
The pinnacle of worldly dreams -
all his companions are machines.
