The Sluices Of My Heart - Poem by john o'connell

the sluices of my heart
suddenly open
and pour their torrents
into every atom of my being -
filling the spirit
with an inexpressionable anguish
and drowning even the minds
darkest and most hidden crevices
in a flood of salinity.
