The Smoke That Thunders Poem by Saiom Shriver

The Smoke That Thunders

His voice could
be booming thunder
or a whipered breeze
of the seas
It could be wind
chimes
or Big Ben striking time
it could be
the soft laughter
of a brook
or the roar
of the Zambezi falls

*

Note: There are 2 different words
in Africa for what the invaders
called Victoria Falls, the world's

largest waterfalls.
They are
Mosi-oa-Tunya and Tokaleya Tonga,
the smoke that thunders.
The Zambezi river at the falls
forms a border between Zambia
and Zimbabwe
