The Song Must Go On Poem by Jason Bonhomme

The Song Must Go On

I never had it out with you
there was so much magic to do
I put aside questions and grievance
let the business at hand
take precedence

The Song must go on
i know my work is done
skilled are they
at making you feel
lesser than them

Quietly accept and concede
The crimes are deceit abuse lighting of gas
Learned helplessness
at the hands of a psychopath

I see you surrendered your assaults finally
you could not face the light of truth
i know too much of what you are
from the shadows you operate

A retinue of supporters to network with
you let yourself be lionized
a path to glory paved for your steps
not without price nor compromise

A strong edifice you have built
my friendship now shared with set limits
you already knew i grew a backbone
so you can stand up on your own

Affirmation in fifty words
it burned you to the core
A necessary manifesto set to prose
it wasn't all about you
a statement of my being

My real Work being honored by myself
you hate it when I shine
i must go elsewhere
our shared work
will last down through time

this is our success
i played my part
melded with Art
farewell dear comrade,
Bless.
