The Song Of The Desert Poem by Peter Kasius

The Song Of The Desert

Thundering hoofbeats are heard in the vale
then a whirl away horse come up the trail
As a jazz clarinetist is playing the blues,
there is a foot tapping gallop by a hundred kazoos
Inviting the music for a lyrical muse, oh
Bless be the romantic; a horseman fantastic
The Shiek of the desert, the Sheik of the free
The mythical Sheik of Araby.
