The Song Of The Happy Man Poem by Dora Sigerson Shorter

The Song Of The Happy Man

I have a rose garden
Full of sweet flowers;
Yellow bloom, crimson bloom,
Perfume the hours.
I have an apple tree
Bent with its load;
Ruddy fruit, golden fruit,
Hang to my hold.

I have a young maid's love,
Timid and shy.
All day I singing go,
'Happy man I!'
All night I prayerful go,
'Blessed man I!'
Happy man, blessed man,
Happy man I!
