The Song Of The Myopic Nimby Poem by Mary Champion

The Song Of The Myopic Nimby

I am one of the privileged few,
I live in a house with a beautiful view.
I don't want huge pylons and turbines to spoil
this wonderful prospect, to cut back on oil.
Why should I care if the Earth starts to fry,
if most my compatriots suffer and die?
I will be safe with my outlook sublime.
This landscape is sacred - to scar it a crime.
And when Mother Earth is too f**ked up to save,
I'll die on defence of my beautiful grave.
