The Sound Of Saddness Poem by Lady Pattianna Urasz

The Sound Of Saddness

The sounds of crying was heard echoing thru the piney wood.

Touching heart, mind, and spirit of the lowly and the good.

Sad sobbing sounds slithering over rock, tree, and creek,

Causing trembling to depth of soul of the attentive meek.

Weeping now, the sounds float upon the air.

Turning to see from whence it came, to show they really care

Traveling great distances, faces full of tears,

Many traveled far, filled with anxiety and fears.

The crying soul had begun to wail as though its heart were broken.

The leaves upon the trees began to shake with words unspoken.

From all directions came the seekers, panting as they ran.

The meek, the good, the caring souls, pushing thru the land.

All to see what it was that cried so heartfeltly.

All to see who it was that wailed obsteperously.

And one by one they all appeared before the tumultuous crier.

One by one in disbelief each one looked into the brier.

And one by one each turned away, each tender caring soul,

To hide his face and tearing eyes, as sadness takes its toll.

For sadness itself was found to be the cause of all the stir.

Sadness of all the wordly woes together did occur.

Making one voice, and that became a sob, a cry, a wail,

Heard across the forest lands and meadows without fail.

Stirring man and animal too, female as well as male.

Touched by so sad an outcry heard throughout the land.

Touched that so much unhappiness is in a land so grand.

A sadness so profound as to make a grown man cry.

A sadness from tormented souls can make creation sigh.
