The Stars Won'T Kill You Poem by Siobhan O.

The Stars Won'T Kill You

I learned a long time ago,
That the stars are not constant.
There is no guarantee that
They will stay,
Or that they are still there at all.

The light we see shining down
Is from years that are long past.
The stars that seem to be there
Could be dead
And we just have not noticed yet.

When stars burn out they do not
Just quietly fade away
They let out a huge burst of
Energy
That incinerates everything.

And I thought love was like stars.
It was beautiful, and it
Might just destroy you without
A warning.
But they both are nice while they last.

But I forgot that when stars
Burn out and shoot out those rays
They only send them in two
Directions.
And the odds are you won’t get hit.

Now you have left me alone,
And I miss the light that you
Used to shine down on me, but
I’m ok.
And so I have learned something new.

Do not be afraid to love.
Because love is not constant
And you will miss it when it
Has ended.
But it is not the end of you.
