The Storm Poem by henry igbinedion

The Storm

Behind jealous clouds
Peeped the Sun at shrouded Earth
Star crossed skies paled sickly as
Pompous stars hid their glitter

Swirling riots of air
Fanned across the horizon
Oblivious of dancing flora... and
In the bushes, beasts scampered. Then,
Celestial fireworks cracked the
Earth's roof and
The heavens leaked liquid silver.

Earthbound
Ululating,
urchins gambolled, as
Rivers of earth layered our loamy streets
